For some reason,
my life space
has become a literary soup.
A child here that
does not understand.
Another child there,
that decided to
collide with the world and life.

She wants to share the
world in herself.
I have a daughter
who is learning to be snarky.
She has the world in her eyes and
not sure what to do next and
then she gets her legs tangled up,
from trying to grow up.
And my son,
my son,
my son,
trying to stretch out
and discover
the world and hiding
behind the box of
adolescence.
The soup is hot,
it's rancid,
it's fresh,
and the crab claw reaches out
and clips my nose.

Why Willard lost the Election of a Lifetime

This past Tuesday, election day I did not watch the returns, because I did not really care, there was nothing really historic for me or anyone that I know. For the most part I had been beaten down by the relentless beating over the head and shoulders, the American people have been taking for the past seventeen or so months via the airwaves, the internet, at the water cooler, in church. I am tired, I wanted more than anything for it to be over, I feel like this has been one very, very long root canal, and yes I have had one of those when I was twelve, when my parents were getting divorced and the medication wore off it hurt like hell. None of this take two Motrin and go to bed, they did not have Motrin back then and I wanted really for my parents, BOTH OF THEM to come home and be a comfort to me. Which brings me to the subject of this discussion:

Why Willard lost the election, take a look at several issues, some related, some not. I could point the finger at this or that, however the bottom line is simple, Willard was a weak candidate, in some ways weaker than his predecessor, in many ways, he was so far removed from ordinary people that he seemed to look down at us, all of us, there are many that have serious issues with the idea that Mormonism is not Christianity, we Christians do not understand that denomination at all, down to their secret services, the special underwear and the commencement within the lifetime of tangible relatives in anyone's family tree.

We wanted to like him, he really made it difficult, we wanted to accept him, but he decided to do the one single thing that I know almost everyone's parents told them to do when they were going out, go to the front of the place, stay there and wait for us/me, do not come running around looking for me, you will only get more lost.
Willard decided that he needed to be all things to all conservatives and Republicans, and in doing that he started to turn some folks off, both campaigns were arrogant, not sure what and  where that was coming from.

I am not sure who is responsible for this idea, but nobody came for the American Blacks, somehow when we were lured unwittingly into the Democratic party over the past 70 or so years, the Republicans just sort of gave up on us, sure there have been defectors to this grand plan and I am grateful to that it does show some level of evolution, but you need to come for us, in a big way, and yes you are going to have to shout down loudly the naysayers and the hooligans that stand to lose the most with any exodus from the parties. More on that one later.

When both candidates seem to be the same, one not too much different from the other, then its just a coin toss, both of them were big government, both of them were going to raise taxes on rich people, which is fine, just be truthful about it. The one thing that seemed to ring true about the run up to the election, there seemed to be many, many distractions, quite a few of them perpetrated by the media, some by peripheral candidates that could not seem to keep from placing their foot in their mouth. Each and every time he was off message, then it was an opportunity to provide distraction to the American people.  A stronger candidate would have been able to subvert much of that, just by staying the course. The party racists, the ones that create their own atmosphere by suggesting that the President was born in another country, that he is of a non Christian faith,  that he is a socialist, he is out to destroy America/ he hates America, all of that not true, If you looked at him as a man that wishes a slightly different path for America and you really do not agree with him, then that is what should be said, all of that being said. I do not like the way he leads or rather fails to, his support of issues such as marriage, behaviors can be masked or put away for a period of time, like black people when they code-switch, like white people when they code-switch, yes I said it.
Bottom line, we don't need someone who is severely or any other conservative, we just someone who is consistent, honorable and embraceable. We need a person that is willing to be honest beyond a shadow of a doubt and not driven by ego. I am more than likely going to rewrite this, but consider this, in many states, Mr Romney lost by the amount of a few votes, those votes could have come from folks that did not bother to show up, or those votes could have come from those that did, but picked the other guy because of party servitude.

We need to do better, we all need to do better, and we need to drive the racists out no matter where they live, they are as bad as child predators.

Cheerleaders

I think I have figured out why I don't like cheerleaders. Cheerleaders, stand on the side of the field and yell and shout as the action goes on, they are more of the noses pressed up against the glass and the fire engine streaks by on the way to undo some of the carnage. They stand and stomp and attempt to convince me and everyone else that their contribution is useful.
Tell me please, when the last Stanley Cup, World Cup or World Series or for that matter Super Bowl was won with the help of cheerleaders. Our economy is in the doldrums, our President and Congress have yet to come to grips with the simple way to correct everything, and believe me there is a simple way to correct it. Where are the cheerleaders? And what are they doing to ensure that my paycheck along with my peers, colleagues, family members and friends gets any smaller. What are the cheerleaders doing to make them bigger? I don't need all of the cheering and shouting from a distance, that does nothing to help me, in my lifetime, I estimate that I have earned about a million dollars in taxable income and several thousand more in under the table collections that many of us entrepreneurs, malcontents, and scoundrels are notorious for. Not one penny, not a single red cent was the result of a cheerleader. There is quite a bit of money in my portfolio, all individually held, as I have learned a long time ago, if I do the work, take the risks, then the rewards should be mine to distribute, I don't need a cheerleader. I will take risks, and will always take risks, I will accept a hand out only, and only if I have the opportunity to pass on the good deed to someone else that may benefit, after I have gotten back up. I will accept love, and compassion, an occasional kick in the pants; however those are handed out by folks that care, that love you and have a vested interest in some of your success, as a rising tide raises all boats.

In a sporting event, I came to watch the sporting event, if I go to a sporting event, I go to watch the sporting event, if my child is in the sporting event then I will watch my child, I am not present to enjoy the distractions. Really why would I find enjoyment watching a bunch of fourteen year old girls jump up and down, screaming and shouting. Shoot I live with five members of the opposite sex, do I really need extra screaming and shouting. And mind you three of them are dealing with some sort of hormone imbalance and two of them have some sort of narcissistic complex that they are trying to live through.

In a few words, get a life. Earn your keep, get out and do something, anything, earn your own money, fame, fortune.

No, cheerleaders do absolutely nothing for me. Thank me, help me, and honour me. I rather like my humility; I really enjoy my peace and quiet. I really don't need the din intensified by additional shouting and cheering. I can toot my own horn, thank you very much, and I prefer not to.

Why

I really still don't get the halftime show of the Superbowl. It seems really anti climatic to having two brothers coach the opposite teams. I commend and congratulate both of them. We have come a long way since the Vince Lombardi football league back in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

No facebook

I will not use Facebook for these reasons, for the most part it is nothing more than a picture sharing, tell the world what you are doing with questionable privacy constraints. If you need to share something, then call me, email me, send me a card. I have been Facebook free for eighteen months and can I tell about the freedom I have. My cell phone is the same number that I have had for the past ten years, I have had the same carrier as well. I can be reached on my cell, through this blog, and a couple of others, my email which has been the same for the past ten years. I value my privacy and the only social sites I will be using in the future are those that are narrowly focused, you can find me on Goodreads and Linkedn and Google+, also I cannot make any money on Facebook and the stock is priced entirely too high presently, a good purchase point is below 15$ a share, yes I even hand out stock tips from time to time, please follow my other directions, do not accept this as advice,

He's Back

Yes I am back, bold and today of all days I am tired, before you roll your eyes at this being one of those places where I share, incessantly and inappropriately.

Some how, I feel like I went over the wire some how, like I have been liberated from something or someone.  I am looking at today as being on a mission, to change first myself, and then some other folks. Last night I dreamed about a pool and a canyon where people were trapped and content, to the point that they had a Stockholm Syndrome with being in the canyon, one afternoon I figured out a way to drain the pond and one man escaped, and the rest of the folks in the canyon, could not figure out what had happened and they were busy posting lost person signs for the one man that got out, I got tired of trying to convince every one that the way forward was to go over the wire, somehow they wanted to stay in the canyon. I am going to work on this some more, I feel a good story coming on.

Nikon Coolpix L810 16MP 26X Optical Zoom Black Digital Camera (Google Affiliate Ad)I want to write a little about the recently past election, this was a sad event, because I really feel like nobody has learned anything and the left is busy pounding their chest and the right is crying in their beer/coffee/tea/soda. Stop both of you. Neither of your candidates were all that fantastic, as you are not looking for the greater good of your country, and yes this is one instance where collectivism needs to apply, as we have come too far in the past 200 odd years to descend into some sort of third world anarchy and commence eating our young. And yes the President does not have alot to do with many things, in fact he or she controls nothing, but should be able to suggest, initiate, lead and should do so, I will save another volley for Congress, for another day, for they are not blameless, either.

Automobiles

Yes school is out for a couple of more days, and yes I am going on a rant. For those that think that Obama is doing this wrong and doing that wrong, shut up and give the old man a chance. If you remember when Junebug (GWB) came to office he had clear skies, no wars, moderate taxes, and people were gainfully employed. If your memory does not fail you, when Slick Willie came to office, he had clear skies, no wars, moderate taxes and people were trying to dig out from something or another, and when Pops came to power, we were about to go and kick Sadaam's sorry behind, the new world order was coming into place and the wall was about to fall.
So I say all of that to say, give the man a break, let some of this shake out, work its way out, and for heavens sake, stop bringing up this torture thing, I am sick of hearing about it, do you understand. We did what needed to be done, to do what we had to do, I imagine some of that was going to be payback for them fools aiding in the New York city downtown face lift at the cost of several thousand innocent souls that nobody could get past the lobby in time. And as far as the automobile industry and the current problems that they are having here and now. What did you guys think, gas was going to be cheap forever, and that we all should drive these huge behemoths every where we go. Come on, all they are doing is making the road unsafe for the rest of us. I like my late model sedan, thank you very much.
But anyway, between the unions and the corporate hot shots that thought that we all should purchase an Escalade with 21" wheels (dubs as they call them in one of my old neighborhoods) you fools lack vision. The rank and file really need to pile the two groups of you together and perform a world class action lawsuit on you all for corporate malfeasance and corrupt business practices. They then sent their snot nosed lobbyists to Washington, so they would not fix things like fuel standards and the like.
I think people that drive Hummers are selfish fops trying to make up for social inadequacies by driving something that could over the opposition in the back lot.
Oh and back to that Escalade, why should anyone pay a markup of 75 % for a vehicle that serves no useful purpose except to take up two parking spaces and make it difficult to see around to avoid on coming traffic.
And by the way, gas prices are going to go up, 3$ a gallon painful, you will see it by the end of the summer. You can bet on it.
