He's Back

Yes I am back, bold and today of all days I am tired, before you roll your eyes at this being one of those places where I share, incessantly and inappropriately.

Some how, I feel like I went over the wire some how, like I have been liberated from something or someone.  I am looking at today as being on a mission, to change first myself, and then some other folks. Last night I dreamed about a pool and a canyon where people were trapped and content, to the point that they had a Stockholm Syndrome with being in the canyon, one afternoon I figured out a way to drain the pond and one man escaped, and the rest of the folks in the canyon, could not figure out what had happened and they were busy posting lost person signs for the one man that got out, I got tired of trying to convince every one that the way forward was to go over the wire, somehow they wanted to stay in the canyon. I am going to work on this some more, I feel a good story coming on.

Nikon Coolpix L810 16MP 26X Optical Zoom Black Digital Camera (Google Affiliate Ad)I want to write a little about the recently past election, this was a sad event, because I really feel like nobody has learned anything and the left is busy pounding their chest and the right is crying in their beer/coffee/tea/soda. Stop both of you. Neither of your candidates were all that fantastic, as you are not looking for the greater good of your country, and yes this is one instance where collectivism needs to apply, as we have come too far in the past 200 odd years to descend into some sort of third world anarchy and commence eating our young. And yes the President does not have alot to do with many things, in fact he or she controls nothing, but should be able to suggest, initiate, lead and should do so, I will save another volley for Congress, for another day, for they are not blameless, either.

Listen, Please, Just Listen

Listen-- Since not many others are doing it. I am, I will. I would like to commend all of the young military officers that I see day in and day out. Not the ones with stars in their eyes, but the ones who may have had to struggle a little bit , whose families were not the richest on the block financially, but the richest in values, in honor, courage, commitment. I want to commend every young Ensign, LTJG, Second and First LT, all of you especially those Americans of African descent in part. Because we are all mutts, even the light green and light blue Marines. I would like all of you to know that I admire what you stand for, that I want you to remember that you stand with the people that have made this country and others like this one possible, the strength of vision, the honor and courage of teachers, those who have enabled us to advance to where we are today. You are to stand above the mindless celebrities that gather the spotlight and return nothing, nothing at all to the remainder of us. The athletes that get paid millions of dollars and represent false idols to those that will follow in our footsteps. I want you all to stand up for all Americans, all Black Americans, because you show that the dream is alive. That you and I can compete on an equal footing without the need for counts. To see you younger brothers and sisters in that uniform means a lot, it means that we will not be doomed to become a permanent forgotten underclass, that we are an intelligent and noble people. That despite any adversity we can prevail, that you and I can think for ourselves.
More importantly for you is this; I want each and every one of you to stand up and represent to all of our younger brothers and sisters, that an education is the way up and the way out. That they can attain this without sacrificing their lives, their soul, and their family to apathy. That they, if the shoe fits, can stop crying victim and poor me and do something that they can be proud of. They can become, like you, part of a long history of folks that will be remembered. Like Jesse Leroy Brown, Colin Powell, Clarence Thomas and Thurgood Marshall, like Benjamin O. Davis Jr & Sr. like Daniel "Chappie" James, and Frank Petersen, amongst many others, rather than the shorter history of those that will be forgotten.

Remember these things always, please;

Take care of the lives and the minds entrusted to you, somebody's mother and father was kind enough to loan you their child, most of them want them to come back.
Make no promises that you don't intend to keep.
Be true to your word.
Don't try to correct your dog or anyone else while you are angry, all dogs bite. ( I know this first hand)
God or whoever you see as your higher power (he's not the General) does love you.
Take care of yourself, make time for family, friends, even a perfect stranger, it will pay you rewards.
I appreciate and admire you folks, I served my twenty, and I appreciate all the time you are giving. Thank You for your time and your service.

Beginnings

Since I talk about anything I like or anything I hate here. Try this on for size, the surge is working, if everyone would jumping to condemn the troop loss at every turn, they might see that. I'm sure that I am part of the silent majority that wants us out of Iraq....... when the job is done and everything is stable and the only folks getting killed are from the day to day skirmishes that life brings, not depressed malcontents that are under some misguided notion that Allah is calling them to collect their virgins. In America, it would be more profitable to press congress to demonstrate some sound judgment and show parliament how its done, and instead of fussing and carrying on about the war and not really accomplishing anything, there are a few things that you could do; Fix the health care system, don't Hillaryize it or go totally socialist like that. How about some real immigration reform, the reason we have 12 million folks that we can't keep up with and is costing us money that we don't have is your fault, have you guys thought about that, now don't go blaming Georgie down the road, he did have a couple of sound ideas that would work. Third, reform the tax system, make it fair, don't soak anybody except maybe the last two vice presidents, Al and Dick. America we are not going to be there forever, Georgie, please tell us that, Congress; do something, anything except ramble on about the troop withdrawal, Iraqi's; get your act together and for Allah's sake quit trying to kill each on my time. Ok, I'm done now.......
