I have added virtual machines so that I can run windows in a sandbox, where it belongs. There is as I mentioned before several different software packages that it would cost me thousands of dollars to replicate in a windows environment, not to mention that the hardware could not handle it. I can scan, evaluate, test amongst other things with this machine. You can believe that total cost of ownership foolishness that Microsoft wants to push off on you, the truth is, all software is expensive, you really should not have to shell out mountains of cash in order to keep your business in the black.
